How a city becomes a picture – in four steps.

Every series starts in the city itself. Sandra Rauch researches and photographs – neon advertising, lettering, facades.

In the studio the material is rearranged: space, perspective and typography condense into tightly structured images.

Often acrylic glass instead of canvas – with layers of imagery on front and back. Digital photography meets mechanical light.

What counts in the end is the effect: colour and light that change a room.
